Thanks for stopping by. The site is still under construction while I move some of my projects off of my PC and make them accessible here. The two projects I'm migrating first are the Trump estimator (a small AI tool I built that rates text based on its similarity to a Trump tweet) and Dasypodius, a time-tracking app that I made to provide countdown timers with intuitive, Unix-time permalinks.
For now though, my class notes for EF 157 and EF 158 are all available, as this is where I keep them. I have a few blog posts that I'm considering adding here, but I'm still not sure what I want to do with the site. If you have any suggestions or issues, my email is in the footer. Enjoy!
This site was created using Node.js using Next.js, a React framework. Currently, it is being hosted by Vercel, the creators of Next, as they host Next projects free of charge. I've learned Node while working at True North Geographic Technologies, a GIS company in my hometown. While I haven't worked on Node websites at True North, I have worked with Node libraries that allow manipulation of geospatial data, like Turf.js, and exposing that data for internal access using libraries like Koop.
There aren't any examples of my work at True North here, as those programs are used internally by the company and tend to be quick-and-dirty utilities, but I have had a few side-projects involving geospatial data, like this time I replicated an interesting articles' methodology by writing a Python script to see the differences in average orientation of street networks in Tennessee. I love the stark difference between the newer cities' strict adherence to cardinal directions compared to older cities' messy, off-center design that resulted from their lack of pre-planning.
Thanks again for stopping by; I hope you enjoy the site!
